Pre-tuning for Nitro's? Many of us are quick to grab the trusty ol' screwdriver and temp gun the minute our vehicles performance changes. This is not always the answer. Many engines are tuned unnecessarily due to simple air leaks in the fuel system. Tuning an engine with an air leak, can lead to serious damage to the engine. If you notice a loss of your engines performance, do a quick look over before you start to tune.

Ensure Air Cleaner is firmly attached and clean..
Ensure all Lines are attached with no holes in them...
Inspect Gas Tank for cracks, chips, or leaks...
Ensure Tank Lid is sealing properly...
Look at Engine Crankcase, Berrings, and Backplate....
Look for Wet or Oily deposits...
Look at Base of the Head for wet and/or oily deposits...
Look at Header where it connects to Block and Pipe...
Check for bubbling around Glow Plug with engine idleing...
Also ensure Glow Plug is lit up all the way to end of coil...

If you have verified all of these problems, refer to Nitro tuning to be posted in our "Tips" forum.. Thanks and Good Luck Guys....

I Have seen it happen hundreds of times... Engines being tuned unnecessarily, although it is common to have to tune your engine. Tune it for the right reasons.... More detailed description to be posted in (Tips) in forum section.... good luck guys..
