Ok guys,, I'd like to start by thanking all of our new members...  I know some of you guys have been into r/c's for awhile..But this thread is for all those rookies..

STARTING A NITRO ENGINE

1.  Inspect engine and vehicle to insure no loose or damaged parts.
2.  Turn on all electronics. (Remote and Vehicle) and test them...
3.  Add fuel to vehicle and prime lines..
     a. This is done by placing finger over exhaust and turning over engine until fuel travels
through line and enters carb... Do not over prime... may result in a hydro-lock...
     b. Hydro-lock is when engine cylinder is filled with fuel preventing piston from travel.
4.  Place ignitor on glow plug and turn over engine.
a.If engine does not start repeat step 2.
b.If hydro-lock occurs.. (engine will not turn over) pull plug and cover head with a rag and turn engine
        over a few times..
5.  Let engine idle for a few seconds and your off.. As your engine temp increases, so will your power..
NEVER TUNE ON A COLD ENGINE... This is a common mistake...

SHUTTING DOWN YOUR NITRO ENGINE

1.  Bring vehicle to an idle.. pinch off fuel line from engine to carb.
a.Engine will rev and cut off after a few seconds.
2.  Once engine stops, roll pinch down immediately..
a.This is done by rolling piston to bottom of sleeve..(email for more details)
3.  After engine cools, remove all unused fuel from tank..
4.  Pull off fuel line and attempt to start engine again..
a.This will burn out any left over fuel in crankcase/carb.
5.  Pull off air cleaner and put a few drops of after run oil in carb. throat
     a.After run oil>>== wd-40.. 3 in 1 oil and so on..
6.  Bump engine over a few times... roll pinch to bottom... and your done...

This is the basic idea of how to run a nitro engine.. Use common sense and basic safety and
you will be fine...   Look for more Untamed tips here...

Coming soon..      general maintnance..... basic engine tuning.. suspension set ups...
